Volk Inspection Services will provide comprehensive third-party inspection services to ensure compliance with client project specifications, approved engineering drawings, and relevant industry standards. Before the vendor begins work, a technical review and alignment meeting will be conducted to ensure full understanding of the project requirements and align on the scope of inspections. During this meeting, the vendor’s Quality Control Plans (QCPs) will be reviewed and marked up with specific intervention points to accommodate Volk Inspection Services’ involvement throughout the project.
Critical interventions will include document approval, material verification, visual and dimensional inspections, witnessing of non-destructive examinations, trial assembly inspections, and witnessing of factory acceptance tests (FAT) for mechanical and electrical equipment. Additionally, Volk Inspection Services will oversee the release to corrosion protection, conduct inspections and witness tests after painting, rubber lining, and ceramic lining, and ensure compliance with corrosion protection requirements. The scope will also cover the release to site, witnessing of loading for transit, and review of all supporting documentation for fabrication, corrosion protection, and equipment testing activities.
Volk Inspection Services will provide detailed inspection reports to ensure transparency at all stages. Soft expediting will be conducted to monitor and report on the status of quality documents received and approved, as well as the overall progress of equipment inspected and tested. A high-level status report will be issued weekly, summarizing the progress and compliance of inspection activities, and document reviews, ensuring proactive communication and alignment with project timelines and quality requirements.

Recent projects include the DRD Gold FWGR DP2 Expansion Project (platework), Rand Refinery Electro Gold Electrolysis Banks Phase 2 Upgrade (polypropylene piping), KROPZ Elandsfontein Turbo Cell installation, and Tronox KZN Sands Fairbreeze Mine HDPE overland piping.
The company has also supported Palabora Mining Company’s MSP 3 Projects involving process and water piping, structural and platework, as well as Northam Platinum’s Zondereinde Back Fill Plant and Eland Chrome Plant Expansion Project, covering civils, structural, piping, platework, instrumentation and power distribution.
Additional assignments include flotation cell projects at Karo Platinum and Mimosa Retrofit, the Dwarsrivier Mine PMG Recovery Plant incorporating tanks, platework and piping systems, and inspection support for the degritter at Ivanplats Mine and the New Acid Plant fort the Kamoa Copper Kukala Project.

Lead Inspector & Director
Charl Bezuidenhout, Senior Inspector and Director, brings more than 20 years of progressive experience from artisan level through foreman, quality coordination, quality management and independent inspection roles.
His expertise spans structural steel, platework, piping, pressure equipment, civils and EC&I, with comprehensive knowledge of international and South African codes including ASME, API, AWS, ISO and SANS standards.
His inspection scope covers full Quality Control Plan verification, dimensional verification, welding and NDE oversight, corrosion protection release, FAT witnessing, data book review and final release to site, ensuring strict compliance with project specifications and statutory requirements
Willie Davies
Inspector
Supporting this capability is Willie Davies, Inspector, a qualified Fitter and Turner with decades of experience in heavy manufacturing, defence vehicle production, precision machining and mining-related mechanical systems.
His background includes senior production management roles and structured ISO-aligned quality systems, providing strong technical interpretation of engineering drawings, material traceability control, welding compliance, corrosion protection inspections and comprehensive data book verification.
His disciplined, production-driven approach strengthens structured inspection execution and reliable project delivery

Accountant
Janeke serves as the Finance Manager of Volk Inspection Services and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in CA Accounting.
She is responsible for all invoicing, financial administration and internal financial controls within the company. With a structured and detail-oriented approach, she ensures accurate billing, sound financial record keeping and effective cash flow management.
Her professional oversight provides the financial stability and administrative discipline that supports the company’s operational performance and continued growth.
